Statement From AMS Executive

KINGSTON, ON – Today, Kanivanan Chinniah, President, Kyle Beaudry, Vice President (Operations), and Sarah Letersky, Vice President (University Affairs), issued the following statement:

“Yesterday, we accepted the resignation of Miriam Bart, Commissioner of Internal Affairs, effective immediately as a result of personal reasons.

“We thank Miriam for her dedication to her role and service to the AMS, and wish her the best at this time. We ask that all will respect her privacy.

“We will open a hiring process for the Commissioner of Internal Affairs position in the coming days.”

The central undergraduate student government at Queen’s University, the AMS represents over 16,000 students and is the oldest student government in Canada. The constituency is represented through 10 faculty and residence societies. The AMS Council, which is made up of a three-person executive, six commissioners, and three directors, oversees all day-to-day activities within the Society, including 10 corporate services and over 50 government committees that address virtually all matters of student life at Queen’s.
