Gender, Land, and Livelihood: A Global Exploration of Land Grabbing and Women’s Resilience

November 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Land grabbing is the large-scale acquisition of land through purchasing or leasing large plots of land by different organizations from local governments. Land grabbing often happens without the consent or prior knowledge of populations who have historically lived and maintained the land in question, ultimately negatively affecting their lives. On the evening of November 21st, WIIS-Queen’s will be discussing how this affects women’s livelihoods. All are welcome and encouraged to come!

WIIS-Queen’s will be accepting donations as entrance into the discussion!
