Apply for Up to $5,000 Through the Student Impact Fund

Dear Undergraduate Students,

Team DAE is excited to share an opportunity for students to make an impact!

Our student Health and Dental Plan provider, Alumo, has launched a new initiative called the Student Impact Fund, which provides students with the opportunity to receive up to $5,000 in funding for eligible projects. Applications require endorsement from the AMS. Once a project is submitted, it will be sent to the AMS President for endorsement.

Team DAE encourages any student or student group with an eligible project to apply. We are particularly interested in supporting initiatives that benefit the student community, Queen’s University, or the AMS by improving affordability, engagement, and/or accountability. If you would like to discuss your idea before applying, you can also meet with the AMS President through his booking link for support in developing a strong application.

Student Impact Fund Details
The following eligibility information is provided by Alumo.

Projects must:

• Be led by students and benefit students and/or the campus community
• Be non-partisan and not for commercial use
• Be inclusive and align with values of equity, sustainability, and well-being

Ineligible projects include:

• Projects run by the student union itself, including operations and campaigns
• Commercial or for-profit ventures
• Projects without a clear benefit to students on campus, such as projects for personal gain or travel
• Projects that promote hate or discrimination, or conflict with association and/or institutional policies

Funding cannot be used for:

• Alcohol or drugs
• Food costs exceeding 30% of the total funding received
• Compensation or honoraria for project organizers
• Prize giveaways
• Charitable donations. Funds may be raised through the initiative and donated; however, Student Impact Fund funding cannot be directly donated.

Maximum Funding Available:

• New projects: Up to $5,000
• Recurring projects: Up to $3,000*
• *Recurring projects that include something significantly new or different may be eligible for up to $5,000.

How Funding Is Provided:

If your project is selected, you will receive a portion of the funding upfront to help get your project started. The remaining funding will be provided once the project is complete and the required project completion report has been submitted.

• Current application period: September 1 to October 15
• Next application period: January 4 to March 1, 2027
