JDUC Update August (AMS and SGPS)
The AMS and SGPS Executive teams wish to update their members on a new move-in date for the JDUC.
In a JDUC steering committee on August 1st, Donna Janiec, VP Finance and Administration, informed us that the JDUC will not be open until November 29th, following a special meeting with the lead construction company, Graham Construction and Engineering Inc., and all major contractors. Unexpected complexities of renovating an old building have been cited as the cause of this delay. This comes as a disappointment, especially since we previously understood the building would be ready before September. We share your frustration with this delay and will work based on the new date provided to ensure a smooth transition into the JDUC.
The AMS and SGPS will continue to provide updates on our channels of communication such as the News Updates page on myams.org or the News page on sgps.ca, regarding their move back home to the JDUC. We remain committed to transparently communicating as we are informed of any further delays or changes that may affect the AMS or SGPS’s move throughout this process.
Signed,
AMS and SGPS Executives
