Student Advocacy Symposium

Do you feel discontent with the current housing situation in Kingston? Are you passionate about student involvement on campus? Or is food insecurity important to you?

Come join us in the AMS’s inaugural Student Advocacy Symposium on March 29 between 4 – 6 PM. The purpose of the Student Advocacy Symposium is to evoke a sense of rumination about the fast-paced, ever-changing school year as it relates to new policies at this institution. We hope to spark dialogue between students by facilitating an open space discussion to gather feedback for data driven decision-making to inform policy and enact change. Its vision consists of three basic pillars: turning the ideas of students into future action; using data analysis to create a better AMS where students feel they have a voice and are being heard; and finding out directly from students about what issues matter most to them, through a more open approach.

This year the three topics we want to focus on include housing, student engagement and food insecurity.

With some amazing speakers, snacks, prizes and passionate students like you, we hope the conversations will positively impact the lives of students next year and onwards. We are looking for 25-30 students to join us. All participants will receive a  $10 gift card for participating. Those selected will be sent a separate email closer to the date! First come first serve!
