Best Spots to Study

If lately you’ve been feeling a sense of dread approaching the towers of Stauffer, you’re not alone. Day after day of studying in the same environment can get a bit depressing – and we know, switching to Douglas doesn’t really help matters much. If you need a little change from your exam routine, check out these other spots to study both on and off campus:

1. Common Ground

There’s just no place better. Need a mid study caffeine rush? Coffee is two feet away. Need some carbs to calm your nerves? Now is the time to try the top-secret bagel. And if you just need a general pick me up? Grab a piece of cake and just make yourself feel better about this whole “exam” situation.

2. The Tea Room

The Tea Room also features a delicious variety of baked goods and caffeinated beverages. Additionally, the cozy atmosphere with its large windows showcasing a beautiful snow-frosted campus will help you forget about exam time blues and get your mind into the holiday spirit.

3. Market Street Cafe

The ladies who work at Market Street are fantastic, offering up hot lunches, beverages and healthy choices like fruit salad for reasonable prices. Take your lunch down to the library, which is never too crowded and has the comfiest booths around.

4. The Sleepless Goat

If you’re looking to get off campus for a bit, try “The Goat” as its affectionately nicknamed. The Goat offers Fair Trade coffee and homemade entrees and desserts, as well as walls of local art and bookshelves with interesting reads if you need a little study break.

5. CoffeeEco

If you’re looking to try somewhere even farther from campus, We’d recommend CoffeeEco. Located right across from Market Square, the latte list here is extensive and each one is prepared with utmost skill (and they can do really cool foam designs). If you come on a Saturday, you can also grab something across the street from the market to get you through studying.
