Fall Reading Week, paired with weekends, and Thanksgiving, means undergraduate Queen’s students get October 11-19, 2025 off from classes!

Kingston Murder Mystery: Death in the Shadows

Interactive outdoor exploration game where you solve the murder of travel blogger Bella Wanderlust during a ghost tour. Explore 12 real locations around downtown Kingston using your phone to gather clues and interrogate suspects.

Cost: CA$14-40 per person. Duration: Up to 2 hours. Starting point: 216 Ontario Street.

A Date Night Adventure: Enjoyin’ Life in the Limestone City

Scavenger hunt exploring Kingston’s waterfront views, gothic and neo-classical architecture, and lakefront areas. Visit spots like Confederation Basin Marina, Pump House, and Hendry House while learning why Kingston is called the Limestone City. Perfect for couples or friends. Starting point: 216 Ontario Street.

Paranormal Investigations at Murney Tower

Join Phantoms of Yore for evening paranormal investigations on October 10-12. Be a ghost hunter using real investigation equipment to detect supernatural activity. Includes live feeds so you can review footage for paranormal captures. Learn about the tower’s haunted history while exploring with professional investigators.

Creative & Cultural

Make it Happen: Creative Mending Workshop

Art Cat Sticker by Pusheen - Find & Share on GIPHYFREE hands-on workshop at Kingston Frontenac Public Library for ages 14+. Learn visible, creative mending techniques for clothes and fabrics from members of the Cataraqui Guild of Needle Arts. No previous experience necessary. Sponsored by Friends of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.

Tett Centre Events and Workshops

Multiple ongoing programs at the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning:

  • Kids Creativity Club: Drop-in art-making for families with children 10 and under
  • Life Drawing for All: Weekly sessions with Tim Rosillo, all skill levels welcome, materials provided. Focus on tone, form, movement, structure, and proportion using various media
  • Weaving 101: Creative Weaving on a Frame Loom: Beginner workshop with Tara Morris, ages 12+, $98 includes all materials
  • Quick & Cute Card and Scrapbooking Class: Make 36 handmade greeting cards or 3 scrapbook layouts, $36 includes supplies

Active Adventures

The Boiler Room Climbing

Bouldering gym at 993 Princess Street (entrance next to the mural). Offers affordable day passes for all skill levels. Requirements: Valid waiver (good for 5 years, valid for both Kingston and Belleville locations). Minors require a parent/guardian to complete the waiver.

Wolfe Island Ferry Adventure

FREE ferry service from 295 Ontario Street, Kingston to Wolfe Island. Runs every hour year-round, takes 20 minutes each way. Ferry operates 5:30 am-2:00 am with hourly departures.

What to do on Wolfe Island:

  • ·Main Street Marysville: Visit local restaurants and shops
  • Cycling: Paved highways for road bikes and gravel roads for adventure cycling
  • The Market at Wolfe Island Commons: Saturdays 9am-12pm for local food, art, and handmade goods

Kingston Farmers Market

Main Market at Springer Market Square

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 9am-4pm (April-November). Ontario’s oldest market with 90+ vendors during peak season.

Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market

Year-round market at 303 York Street. May-October: Sundays 9am-2pm, November-April: Sundays 9am-1pm. All products grown/produced within 100km of Kingston. Features free parking, hot foods, artisan crafts, and free arts activities.
