Social Issues Commission

In the Social Issues Commission (SIC), we oversee projects and initiatives to uphold and advance the principles of Indigenization-Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility (I-EDIAA) in alignment with the AMS Mission Statement. The SIC is dedicated to representing the diversity of students at Queen’s through anti-oppression activism, educational campaigns about equity, human rights, and social justice topics, and fostering a safe, empowering space for equity-deserving students on campus. Whereas the SIC-Internal accomplishes this through organizing trainings, reviewing AMS policies, and strengthening students’ institutional lobbying power, the SIC-External focuses on organizing events, creating educational materials, and promoting SIC and equity initiatives.
