Lest We Forget: Join Us at Grant Hall to Stand with the Queen’s Community
It has been 80 years since the end of the Second World War, claiming an estimated 70 to 85 million lives. Every year, at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month — we will remember every single person who sacrificed their lives, and served for our country.
Remembrance Day Service
On Tuesday, November 11th, classes will be cancelled from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM to allow time for students and staff to gather in Grant Hall for Remembrance Day. To attend is to honour the 367 AMS members who served and died, and to ensure their lives and sacrifices are not forgotten.
The service will be held by Interfaith Chaplain, Erin Burns. It will begins at 10:50 AM, and doors will open at 10:30 AM. Attendees will then proceed to the 5th Field Company Plinth to lay wreaths. Following the service, Wallace Hall will be open for fellowship and refreshments hosted by the Queen’s Military and Veterans Network.
The Memorial Room found in the John Deutsch University Centre (JDUC) will also be open for quiet viewing all day.
All members of the Queen’s community are encouraged to come together on Remembrance Day to recognize the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers and the bravery of those who continue to serve.
