The event is open to all members of the Queen’s and Kingston communities, specifically targeting students, faculty, and staff members. Attendance at the event requires attendance in advance, through the Canadian Cancer Society’s portal at (https://relayforlife.ca/queensu). Upon arrival at the event, there will be a formal registration process that includes verifying the participant’s identity and issuing an identifying wristband. Executive committee members, volunteers, cancer survivors, and speakers who are in attendance will all be identified through lanyard name tags. There will also be ARC and Facilities staff onsite.
The event takes place throughout the Queen’s Athletics and Recreation Centre. We use many spaces on many floors (e.g., Main Gym) for various purposes. The main registration will occur through the Earl Street entrance through the West upper hallway above the main gym. Main events occur in the main gym. Food service occurs in the atrium area above the main gym adjacent to QServices. Participant campsites and other activities utilize all squash and racquetball courts, combative room, upper gyms, Alumni meeting room, Meeting Room #2, and all available hallway spaces. The event opens to participants for registration at 6:00 PM on Friday March 22nd. The event runs through the evening and morning and will conclude with our closing ceremony at 7:30 AM on Saturday March 23rd. There will be an executive committee, volunteer, and ARC staff presence well in advance and beyond those times for setup and cleanup.Fundraising Goal: ~$100 per participant for cancer research
