On May 8th, 2026, the Queen’s University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Q-ACS) will lead the ACS International Historic Chemical Landmark Designation Ceremony at Queen’s University honoring the late Dr. Alfred R. Bader. The ceremony will culminate with the unveiling of a commemorative Landmark plaque, a networking buffet luncheon, and closing remarks. This prestigious event will recognize the remarkable contributions of the late Dr. Bader, who was a beloved Queen’s alumnus and benefactor, distinguished chemist, successful entrepreneur, and generous philanthropist, whose legacy continues to influence and impact the fields of science, business, and the arts. Over the past three and a half years, a committed group of individuals, organizations, and stakeholders has worked diligently to ensure that Dr. Bader’s life and achievements are formally honored through this significant recognition, which will be the first Landmark designation in Canada in 20 years.
