Housing Resource Centre
The Housing Resource Centre provides students with accessible, non-legal support on a range of off-campus housing issues—including leases, landlord disputes, maintenance concerns, and housing insecurity. The HRC also offers educational resources, peer advising, and targeted programming like the Housing Rights Workshop Series and Know Your Neighbours campaign to empower students in navigating the rental market and engaging with the broader Kingston community.
Academic Affairs Centre
The Academic Affairs Centre supports students in understanding and navigating the University’s academic policies, procedures, and appeals systems. From personalized peer advising to centralized resources like the Syllabus Bank and academic integrity materials, the AAC works to demystify the student experience and advocate for a more transparent, equitable, and student-friendly academic environment. The Centre also runs academic equity programming and collaborates with faculty societies on academic advocacy initiatives.
Government Affairs
Through its Government Affairs portfolio, the CEA leads student advocacy at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels. This includes policy development, public campaigns, and coordinated lobbying efforts—often in partnership with the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) and other external stakeholders. The Commission also facilitates civic engagement programming, such as Get Out the Vote campaigns and councillor outreach booths, to help students better understand and influence the systems that shape their lives.
