The CES Kicks Off Sustainability Month
This October the Commission of Environmental Sustainability (CES) is hosting Sustainability Month! They kicked off their month worth of programming yesterday in collaboration with Queen’s Pub and The Earth Centre for some Eco-Trivia!
CES x Queen’s Pub x The Earth Centre Eco-Trivia Night
Students came to Queen’s Pub’s Thursday Trivia Nights, and tested their eco knowledge, being asked environmentally themed questions based on Pop Culture, Movies & Film, Nature, and Queen’s University!
The event also collected used batteries and lightbulbs that were donated to The Earth Centre.
After a competitive night with snacks, questions, and drinks, the winning team took home a sustainable themed prize provided by The Earth Centre!
CES said this event was made to show that sustainability is not a niche but something that can be found and be implemented across all disciplines and parts of life!

Indigenous Nature Walk Talk
On Monday October 6th 2025 from 11:30am-2:30pm, the CES invites you, along with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, the Peer Support Centre, and the Social Issues Commission to come to Belle Island for a guided Indigenous Nature Walk Talk
Club’s Sustainable Event Planning Resource Fair
On Tuesday October 21st 2025 from 3:00pm-6:00pm in JDUC’s Polson Room, learn from NINE different booths how to plan your events sustainably! Grab some snacks and a passport at the start, and travel to each booth getting your passport signed at each stop! At the end, you can enrol in a draw prize!
Citizen Science Workshop
On Wednesday October 29th 2025 from 3:15pm-4:15pm in JDUC’s Polson Room, learn about iNaturalist and Merlin! While you’re here, you will also get the chance to paint a pot and plant a wildflower in it to take home!
