DESCRIPTION:CIRQUE is a student-run conference that aims to show Queen’s Engineering students the versatility of career and post-graduation paths that an engineering degree provide. The conference is two days in length and provides industry professionals with a place to present their organization and the opportunities available to engineering students’ post-graduation. The conference also provides delegates with interactive and engaging workshops run by conference sponsors and networking events. Some of the industries that have historically been involved in the conference are consulting\, research and design\, entrepreneurship\, medicine\, finance\, and law. The organized direct interaction with leaders in some of these industries aims to provide engineering students with exposure and connections in industries they may not typically be aware are available to them.

SUMMARY:The Vogue Charity Fashion Show
DESCRIPTION:The Vogue Charity Fashion Show will be held at Kingston Grand Theatre from March 9th to 11th\, 2023. Our team of 171 students consists of musicians\, dancers\, models\, fashion designers\, and executive members that will all be performing and working behind the scenes at the theatre. The performance is approximately 2-3 hours long\, and it consists of a series of choreographed dances\, modeling\, and live music performances. The show will have a live audience and will also be live-streamed to live stream ticket purchasers.

SUMMARY:Women in Conflict: Survivors\, Soldiers\, and Peacebuilders
DESCRIPTION:WIIS-Queen’s is a chapter of WIIS-Canada and WIIS-Global. We are a gender-inclusive organization that seeks to promote the advancement of women in the field of international peace and security in all of its forms. Through our mentorship program and annual conference\, WIIS-Queen’s uses its extensive network to foster an inclusive community and guide others toward achieving their professional goals. We have hosted four conferences over the last several years: Canadian Women in International Security: Leading from the Front\, The Phases of Conflict\, The Lenses of International Peace and Security\, and Fundamental Changes\, all with resounding success. This year\, our annual conference is focused on exploring the diverse roles that women take on during conflict\, peacebuilding\, and post-conflict reconstruction. Primarily\, we hope to consider the nuanced positions of women as combatants\, peacemakers\, and survivors. The conference will explore these ideas through a series of panels focused on identifying problems\, analyzing specific cases\, and proposing innovative solutions. These panels will be complemented by an opening keynote that functions as a challenge to the conference and a closing keynote. WIIS-Queen’s hopes that this conference will engage with a wide variety of students\, academics\, and professionals in discussions regarding the importance of applying a gendered analysis to all aspects of the field of international security.

SUMMARY:Science Formal CXX - City at Night
DESCRIPTION:Science Formal is held annually in Grant Hall for the graduating class of engineering students. The Sci Formal team designs and constructs various artistic elements for the event\, including a main structure which sits on top of the stage in Grant Hall. The Sci Formal committee will spend approximately three weeks completing the construction and art for the event\, with two weeks in a warehouse space\, and the final week setting up in Grant Hall. On the day of the event\, an open-house is run to raise money for the United Way. The event itself is a formal dance.
