The AMS Social Issues Commission seeks to represent the diversity of students at Queen's through anti-oppression activism and by taking a proactive approach to fostering a positive environment on campus for all students to celebrate and utilize our individuality. As advocates for social change, we seek to provide students with a greater understanding of social issues through awareness-raising campaigns and events. The commission is comprised of eight committees and four publications, run by more than two hundred volunteers that address a wide range of social issues. The commission is a welcoming and safe place for all members of the community. Please contact us for volunteer opportunities as we have many committee member spots open for fall hiring. Including: Accessibility Queen's, the Committee Against Racial and Ethnic Discrimination, Mental Health Awareness Committee, Project Outreach for Secondary School Education, Students Against Poverty, and the Gender and Women's Issues Committee.
