Potential impact of labour disruption on AMS operations and services
July 29, 2011
During a labour disruption on campus, the AMS expects to continue to run its operations and services. AMS employees would be required to attend work as scheduled and have been provided with information and guidance relating to the labour disruption.
As the student government, the AMS has a responsibility to serve students and would continue to do so throughout a work stoppage. We sincerely hope that the university and all bargaining units achieve negotiated settlements to the betterment of all parties in a timely fashion. The AMS has historically remained neutral throughout the bargaining process and will continue to do so while negotiations are ongoing.
We will be posting news updates regarding the negotiations as we receive them on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. For more information on labour relations at Queen’s, please visit http://www.queensu.ca/labournews.
