CFRC Radio Drama Premiere: April 14

April 02, 2012

KINGSTON, ON – CFRC 101.9FM, Kingston's only campus and community radio station, presents the  premiere of two new, original radio dramas at the Screening Room on Saturday, April 14 at 1pm.

CFRC recruited two local writers to produce radio dramas for broadcast and public performance.  Jake Costello's "Dinner at Six" and Lisa Aalders' "Or Kingston Whenever" will premiere at the Screening Room, 120 Princess Street, on Saturday, April 14 at 1pm.  This event is free and all are welcome.  Join us for a matinee of old-time, forward-thinking radio theater!   The pieces will also be broadcast on CFRC 101.9fm and on-line at CFRC.ca on Monday, April 16 at 3:30pm.

This is the final event in CFRC's Radio Residencies program for 2011-12.  Through the support of the City of Kingston and the Kingston Arts Council through the City of Kingston Arts Fund, six local writers created original, local audio art, creative documentaries and radio drama.  Residents were provided with access to broadcast production training, audio production studios, portable digital recorders, honoraria to recruit project volunteers, and a $1000 honorarium for completing their projects.   For more information, visit http://CFRC.ca.
