CFRC 101.9FM & OPIRG Kingston Present: Ranak Ghorbani, An International Women's Week Event

KINGSTON, ON – CFRC 101.9FM, in collaboration with OPIRG Kingston, the Levana Gender Advocacy Centre and the Queen's Coalition Against Racial and Ethnic Discrimination (QCRED), present an International Women's Week event with Toronto-based journalist and feminist Ronak Ghorbani.
Ghorbani has written for publications such as NOW Magazine, Exclaim! and Rabble.ca. She is the arts editor for Shameless, an award-winning, nationally distributed feminist magazine for teen girls and transgender youth. Her presentation, "Youth in Revolt: Reflections on International Women's Day" focuses on young women’s involvement in global political uprisings and activist organizing from the Arab Spring, to riots against austerity in Greece, to student movements in Chile.
The event takes place on Queen's University Campus in Ellis Hall, Room 324 at 6pm on Tuesday, March 6. The event is open to the public and all are welcome. Admission is free. Donations will be collected in support of CFRC and OPIRG Kingston.
This is the second event in the CFRC-OPIRG Anniversary Speaker Series, celebrating Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Aboriginal Awareness Week, 90 years of CFRC and 20 years of OPIRG Kingston.
