Ever heard one of those housing horror stories? The recently-created Student Property Assessment Team (SPAT) has the important and high-profile mandate of helping to proactively improve the quality of student housing at Queen’s by conducting free property standards inspections for students. After receiving basic training, students go out upon receiving a request in teams of two to conduct an inspection, and then facilitate follow up calls from the City of Kingston and/or Kingston Fire and Rescue, as needed.

Be part of one of the most high-profile and important ventures in the AMS today – the work of this team has been featured in the awarding of the AMS Golden Cockroach Award in the Queen’s Journal, CBC Radio, CBC (CKWS) Television, CRFC Radio, CHUM< Kingston This Week, and other media outlets, to name a few. Sign up with a friend and together you will form a team, or sign up as an individual and be paired up with another interested fellow student. Be Part of the action, volunteer in this capacity today!

Or call SPAT to have an inspection done of your house! They will make sure that your house is up to property standards and put you in contact with the right people if it is not.
