What is this FTP stuff, anyway?
Once you have a webpage made up (using Word, or whatever program you would like) you use an FTP client to transfer the files to the webserver. (FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, FYI...)
Packman (the program from ITS that has the free antivirus software, available at www.its.queensu.ca/packman) has a package you can install called WS_FTP -- an FTP client. Once the program has been installed, you can run it, and it will display a menu, where you can enter all of the information provided in the last e-mail (Port is located on the Advanced tab).
The left-hand window is your computer, and the right-hand window is the internet. You can transfer files from one to the other by clicking on the little arrows between the two windows. If you would like more detailed information, there are hundreds of tutorials and guides on the internet, just search Google for "FTP tutorial", or "make a website"...
