REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY OPEN!

Our simulation of the United Nations system challenges delegates to tackle a diverse range of issues in international relations. Through preparation for and participation in our simulation, students will develop and enhance skills in public speaking and the art of diplomacy as they fight for the interests of countries they represent on the most pertinent and controversial issues on the global agenda.

"Canada's outstanding collegiate Model United Nations..." QMUN is known for its quality, which explains why QMUN has received positive feedback on a annual basis, with a high number of returning delegates. QMUN is strategically held in November, to avoid the peak model UN season in February and March. As such, delegates can participate in QMUN without missing other commitments. Additionally, our unique timing grants an excellent opportunity for veteran delegates to reacquaint themselves with MUN procedure and practice debate in preparation for the upcoming year. Novice model UN delegates can also participate in the conference in a warm environment that acts as a stepping stone for larger conferences throughout the year.

"The most contemporary and timely committees..." QMUN 2007 is proud to present five committees that differ in size but are similar in their goal to deliberate on the most relevant issues in international affairs. Of all aspects of QMUN from which we receive positive feedback, our crisis event is always a favourite. One evening during the conference, QMUN has a crisis event where all committees are brought together to encounter a global catastrophe before dispersing back to their committees for an impromptu debate on the issue. Additionally, several committees have crisis components integrated into their standard committee sessions that are designed to enhance innovation throughout the conference. The crisis of 2007 will incorporate the most pertinent concerns of current affairs, providing delegates with a tantalizing and challenging encounter.

"QMUN is highly participatory..." Given the intimate setting of QMUN, delegates will have many opportunities to speak, allowing them to refine and improve their public speaking skills over the weekend. While oratorical participation is encouraged as a means to dramatically improve a delegate's experience at QMUN, it is not mandatory. Certain delegates may prefer to attend proceedings, helping to write resolutions and network with allies outside of committee sessions that are also valuable skills for an aspiring diplomat.
