Nomination & Election Info
Nomination Period for the AMS Executive and Trustee Elections, as well as the Winter Referendum, starts January 7th, 2013, and ends January 16th, 2013. The AMS Executive and Trustee Elections provide an opportunity for AMS Members to vote for their incoming student leaders (President, VP Operations, and VP University Affairs) and representatives to the University Board of Trustees (Undergraduate Student Trustee). The AMS Referendum provides a key opportunity for AMS Members to submit a plebiscite or fee-related question to address Student Activity Fee allocations.
Nomination packages for AMS Executive, Undergraduate Student Trustee, and for submission of a question for referendum can be picked up at the AMS Front Office, located in the JDUC,between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please make sure you fill out the Sign-out Sheet at the AMS Front Office when you pick up a package, and write down a legible email address that you can be reached at. The AMS Elections Team will be contacting you via this email address throughout the Elections/Referendum Period.
Voting days are January 29th and 30th, 2013. Online polls will open at 8:00 a.m. on the 29th and end at 8:00 p.m. on the 30th. Students are encouraged to actively get informed on the platforms and policies of AMS Executive and Student Trustee candidates, as well as organizations and issues surrounding the Referendum questions.

AMS Elections Team
The elections team is responsible for administering the fall and winter referenda and the AMS and faculty society winter elections. The fall and winter referenda include plebiscite questions to gauge the student body’s opinion on certain issues, as well as fee questions for extra-curricular organizations, groups and clubs up for triennial review of optional or mandatory student fees. The winter AMS executive election also coincides with different faculty society executive elections run through the AMS, as well as elections for other offices within the AMS.
