Welcome to the

Academic Affairs Commission!

The Academic Affairs Commission (AAC) is one of the five branches of the Alma Mater Society (AMS), the central undergraduate student government at Queen's University.

The AAC is mandated with representing the academic interests of undergradaute students to the university administration and the federal and provincial governments. Internal lobbying usually occurs through the Commissioner's roles on university Senate committees, and external advocacy runs through our external lobby partners, the Ontario Undergradaute Student Alliance (OUSA).

If students, either individuals or groups, have academic concerns, the commission is responsible for ensuring that those concerns are addressed.

We have a series of diverse committees that seek to educate and inform students on topics such as financial aid and the funding of post-secondary education.

We promote excellence in teaching through our prestigious teaching awards and by encouraging student-faculty interaction outside the normal calssroom setting.

The AAC provides undergradaute students in all years with challenging, exciting, and rewarding volunteer opportunities.

This is your chance to participate in meaningful academic policy research through our Teaching Issues Committee, plan an awards ceremony through our Teaching Awards Committee, and get involved in your student government.

The AAC is also your one-stop shop for all of your academic service needs. Use our Academic Hub to find a study group or a peer tutor. Drop by the Academic Grievance Centre for support and resources, or just to ask a question confidentially. Check out student rankings of professors before selcting your courses.

The AAC also produces policy papers on issues that affect students, which can be downloaded from the 'Get Informed' section of our website!

Keep checking our website for info about hiring this september for our full department of committees and services.
